The Palm Lines

My husbands graduation-film, where I did the production design.

A terrible accident takes away her family in a blink of an eye. Years later, exposed to the video cameras, she tries to remember the events that would change her life to a senseless routine. The story of a day, like any other, from the life of a lonesome woman, spent within questions with no answers.

Being Danish

Identity and nationality are somehow linked together. 

As an individual you get influenced by the places you are, the language and the sense of nationality in your country. In Denmark we are influenced heavily by the long winters and the somewhat empty, cold landscapes. 

In the video I am placed in these landscapes, reciting old poetry and children’s verses that tells something about our mindset as a population. 

These are the issues that I am exploring in my portrait of being a Dane.

This is not me

For this video I did a series of performances in my home, as a way of investigating the alienation and the claustrophobic feeling of the contemporary everyday. I wanted to express this through the relation between the body and the psyche, using the outer body as a description of what is going on on the inside.

"This is not me" has been featured in several festivals and exhibitions in different places such as; Casablanca, Athens and Zagreb.

Spaces

 I am interested in the duality between the real, physical space and the mental, inner one. I am exploring this duality by juxtaposing a real space and it's scale-model replica, as differences of visual relations and perceptions transposed to emotional level. By doing this the rules of the physical world can be broken and replaced with the illogical structure of dreams.

 

The video was part of my final project from Bucharest National University of Art, where I completed my Bachelor in fine arts, specialized in photography and video.

"Spaces" was selected as the best Bachelor project in the University.

Wind

This was my first video. I wanted to describe the invisible turbulence of the wind, as well as the mind.

"Wind" was shown in different exhibitions, among others at the MNAC, Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.

The Walk

 

This video is a study of a single action: The walk. 

At the same time it is a study of the places we walk and lead our lives, as well as the triviality and loneliness that echoes from it.
